Entrevista a Third Party:

WOLOLO SOUND: Hola, Jonnie y Harry.

WOLOLO SOUND: Hello, Jonnie and Harry. You are here in Spain again. You played last week in Murcia and now you are about to play in Madrid, A Summer Story for the second time. After that, you have scheduled some more shows in our country during the summer. What do you offer to be so popular here and make people want to see you playing in our festivals?

THIRD PARTY: Wow… What do we offer? You’ll have to ask the people I guess. But I think that Spain is a country that likes melodic music. Maybe that’s why we have a good following and fanbase here, similar to the UK, where they like the feeling in our music.

WOLOLO SOUND: And talking about A Summer Story, you played here two years ago and now you are playing in their five-year anniversary. We were there in your first show and the crowd went crazy with you. What do you expect for this edition?

THIRD PARTY: We expect the same, haha. We expect the same because we’ve never had a bad show in Spain, and it’s especially really really good in Madrid. It’s one of the cities where we have fans that know our music and really sing the lyrics. So, two years later, we’ve dropped another album and we now have even more music for people to know… and we are also doing the LIIIVE show for the first time in Spain, so there are even more reasons for the people to get hyped. Two years ago was really good, but I think this year can be even better.

¿Qué os condujo a llevar vuestros shows a otro nivel con LIIIVE?

WOLOLO SOUND: In the last months you surprised your fans with that new show called LIIIVE, which we are enjoying tonight in A Summer Story. What drove you to take your shows to the next level with LIIIVE?

THIRD PARTY: I think we felt like our music was kind of guiding that direction anyway and it was becoming a little more than just club bangers. So, we knew that there was more of a song element, we knew that we could do it live, we could break the songs and make an arrangement that works being played live. And secondly, that it would suit the music that we are making. It was quite a natural thing for us, the only problem was how to do it. We had to break the tracks down into individual elements and then work to play those live. It took a lot of practice. It’s a new thing for us, because we DJ, we mix, but essentially we are pressing ‘play’. Now we have to rehearse and practice everything. It took a little while, but now we feel that it is worthy.

WOLOLO SOUND: Talking about LIIIVE and singing live, this question is for you, Harry: We know that you have sung yourself some of the vocals that you have included in your tracks. Could you tell us about how did you realised that your voice could fit in your songs?

THIRD PARTY: On the first album, we were doing many of the writings with the guys that were singing the vocals, we co-wrote a lot of the vocals, so we were always singing beats. It was a slow progression. Initially, we would write the vocals with the songwriter and then he would sing them. Now there’s been a progression where a couple of songs of the new album I just sang them. We were looking for someone to re-sing them, but we thought actually the vocal was gonna work the way I sang it, so that was it really. It sounds complicated, but it was quite simple. Basically, we slowly realized that it would work, to keep it simple, haha.

Throwback to 2017: Wololo Sound entrevista a Third Party

WOLOLO SOUND: After releasing ‘HOPE’, we all thought that your sound couldn’t be better, but we were terribly wrong, and you did it again. With ‘Together’ you showed the world that the album, which was more difficult to release, suffering some delays and keeping the people with a massive hype, met the expectations and was worthy the wait. Could you tell us about the difficulties you have had and the feedback about it?

THIRD PARTY: Well, the difficulties are quite easy to explain compared to ‘HOPE’, because with ‘HOPE’ we already had a few tracks already released and also a quite few done, because it was our first ever album, so we had a lot of back catalogue. But as soon as we had finished ‘HOPE’ and we said that we wanted to do another album we didn’t have any music. That meant that we really had to start from zero. That’s probably the main reason why ‘Together’ was harder than ‘HOPE’. We also want to do a third album for a little while, but we’ll see, because the reaction we have got and still get is unbelievable. We received so many DMs from people saying how much the music has touched them, people going through hard times and the music helps them… So having that feedback always makes you want to do that kind of music. We might do a third album, but at the moment we are just enjoying ‘Together’ and touring, and the fans seem to be loving it, so that means we are happy.

WOLOLO SOUND: Why did you decide to release five tracks before the complete album release, keeping just four new tracks unreleased until then?

THIRD PARTY: Just to show that we have some singles. Nearly everybody now releases singles, singles, singles… We couldn’t go two years without releasing music. So, we wanted to drip feed, a couple of tracks at least before the album. We were working on the album while we were finishing the singles. Otherwise we would have had to wait two years for all the music. People don’t got the patience for two years anymore. It was a long time between the albums, so we had to release at least some singles.

WOLOLO SOUND: And now, after releasing Together, what’s next? Anything you can tell us about?

THIRD PARTY: Well, firstly, when we finished there, we took a break because we really needed it. Everything’s quite fresh again now. We are working on a big remix that we’ve been doing and we’re really excited about and we know people are excited about and we’re also working on a collab as well with a big artist. That’s kind of our two main focuses at the moment. And then the nice part of songwriting, which is having a fresh page and starting again now, that’s always a really fun time when you don’t have anything to finish, everything is so like new fresh ideas. So we’re excited right now. We’ve had a little break playing some shows and now we come back to the studio and make some more music.

WOLOLO SOUND: We must ask a mandatory question… What happens with Release Records? Because you have signed a lot of huge talented artists and some sick records have been released in the last few years. Why does your label seem to be a little a bit stopped? Have you planned to release some tracks in the upcoming months?

THIRD PARTY: Haha, we have a plan. We stopped because we have a plan and because we had the album. Today we just announced the next track from a good guy called Stevie Krash, really good track, and from now on we are gonna be releasing at least once a month. We are gonna make a big move, a big push to make the label as big as possible. We’re taking it back a little bit, we’ve been building up and now we’re going to go over there. So I hope everyone is gonna enjoy it. Release Records is going to be popular this year, it’s going to be popping.

Estamos contentos.

WOLOLO SOUND: And finally, we all know that you have a great relationship with some Swedish guys you did a warm up some time ago, especially with Steve Angello with whom you have a track called ‘Lights’. Which is your opinion about the return of Swedish House Mafia? Do you think that Progressive House is going to change now they are back in the scene again?

THIRD PARTY: We are happy they are back, at hundred percent. We just hope that they come with really good music. I mean, they’ve already done some shows, but there wasn’t too much new music. But we think that if they release some big room prog, it will help people like us, because that makes the masses want to hear that kind of music. We’re happy.
