Paco Osuna es, desde hace muchos muchos años, referente internacional de la música techno. El catalán es uno de los exponentes más importantes de nuestro país en el extranjero, habiendo pinchado, por ejemplo, varias veces en Ultra Miami. En el verano 2022 el productor ha dado un paso más allá anunciando su propia residencia en Ibiza, siendo esta además en el que actualmente es según la revista DJ MAG, el mejor club del mundo: Hï Ibiza. El proyecto Now Here en la isla ya está en marcha, y este es uno de los muchos temas que hemos podido tratar con el artista.
Wololo Sound – ¡Hola Paco! Es un placer tenerte en Wololo Sound, muchísimas gracias por esta entrevista exclusiva. Son muchos años al más alto nivel en la escena internacional, pero nunca habías tenido una residencia propia en Ibiza. ¿Cuál es el concepto detrás de NOW HERE?
Paco Osuna – Disfrutar el momento que vamos a ofrecer cada martes con nuestra música, mi único deseo es que las personas disfruten desde el primer minuto hasta el último de la noche. Siempre aquí y ahora.
La verdad es que estoy viviendo un sueño. Nunca –ni en las mejores de mis expectativas– pensé tener el resultado que hemos tenido en estas semanas. ¡Me siento muy feliz en Hï! Con el poco tiempo que llevo allí me han hecho sentir como si fuese mi casa de toda la vida, amo llegar a primera hora de la noche, saludar al equipo y conversar con el staff. Realmente me siento en casa y cada noche es un disfrute más que un trabajo.
Wololo Sound – Hi Paco! It’s a pleasure to have you at Wololo Sound, thank you very much for this exclusive interview. It’s been many years at the highest level on the international scene, but you’ve never had your own residence in Ibiza. What is the concept behind NOW HERE?
Paco Osuna – To enjoy the moment that we are going to offer every Tuesday with our music, my only wish is that people enjoy from the first minute to the last of the night. Always here and now.
The truth is that I am living a dream. Never – not even in the best of my expectations – did I think I would have the result we have had in these weeks. I feel very happy in Hï!! With the short time I’ve been there, they have made me feel as if it was my home for a lifetime, I love arriving early at night to greet the team and talk with the staff. I really feel at home and every night is an enjoyment more than a job.
WS – Para Now Here, vamos a contar con un cartel estelar que te acompañará cada jueves en la sala club de Hï Ibiza con artistas de la talla de Blackchild, Chelina Manuhutu, Dennis Cruz o Nicole Moudaber entre muchos otros. ¿Cómo se compone el line up para todo el verano de una residencia en la que eres el protagonista? ¿Cómo fue la noche del opening?
PO – Mi criterio para conformar el line-up de toda la temporada fue musical. Ni un solo invitado de los que tengo durante la temporada ha sido llamado fortuitamente, a todos y cada uno de ellos los conozco y los he visto pinchar en diferentes lugares, así que han sido invitados porque creo en su trabajo y lo he podido comprobar. Estoy seguro de que cada DJ va a satisfacer a la audiencia de cada martes.
La noche del opening para mí fue súper especial. Esta es mi primera residencia en Ibiza, con mi propia marca y concepto musical, así que es como mi hijo, algo que lleva todo de mí. Es tremendamente especial.
WS – For Now Here, we are going to have a stellar lineup that will accompany you every Thursday in the Hï Ibiza club room with artists such as Blackchild, Chelina Manuhutu, Dennis Cruz or Nicole Moudaber among many others. How is the lineup made up for the whole summer of a residence in which you are the protagonist? How was the opening night?
PO – My criteria for making up the line-up for the entire season was musical. Not a single guest that I have during the season has been called by chance, I know each and every one of them and I have seen them play in different places, so they have been invited because I believe in their work and I have been able to verify it. I am sure that each DJ will satisfy the audience every Tuesday.
The opening night for me was super special. This is my first residency in Ibiza, with my own brand and musical concept, so it’s like my son, something that carries all of me. It is tremendously special.
WS – Cruzando el charco, en lo que va de 2022 ya te hemos visto por ejemplo en la vuelta de Coachella o Ultra Miami. ¿Te consideras el dj español más internacional?
PO – No realmente, hay muchos otros DJs españoles muy talentosos e internaciones. España tiene mucho que ofrecer musicalmente 🙂
WS – Flying overseas, so far in 2022 we have already seen you, for example, at the return of Coachella or Ultra Miami. Do you consider yourself the most international Spanish DJ?
PO – Not really, there are many other very talented Spanish DJs and internationals. Spain has a lot to offer musically 🙂
WS – Un artista con una trayectoria como la tuya ha ganado galones y sin lugar a dudas, eres uno de los emblemas de la música tech en nuestro país. O dicho de otra manera, tienes opinión sobre esto. ¿Qué tal ves el estado de nuestra industria en este primer año post pandemia?
PO – Hasta el momento parecía que nunca hayamos tenido un break por la pandemia. Todo el mundo está con ganas de divertirse y pasarlo bien, esa energía y buen mood hacen parecer que nunca hayamos tenido un momento tan duro y difícil como lo vivimos con el covid.
WS – An artist with a career like yours has earned gallons and without a doubt, you are one of the emblems of tech music in our country. Or put another way, you have an opinion on this. How do you see the state of our industry in this first year after the pandemic?
PO – Until now it seems that we have never had a break due to the pandemic. Everyone is wanting to have fun and have a good time, that energy and good mood make it seem that we have never had a time as hard and rough as we experienced with covid.

WS – Artista soñado para pinchar en tu residencia:
Lo cierto es que no tengo ningún artista soñado, me encanta el line up que hemos preparado en el verano, ya que todos y cada uno de ellos sé exactamente qué música tocan y por eso les he llamado. Yo creo en la calidad y no tanto en nombres.
WS – Un hobby / pasión oculta:
Pues me encanta cocinar, es una de mis pasiones y además me relaja muchísimo ponerme en la cocina a crear a veces mis propias recetas.
WS – Comida favorita:
Soy un enamorado de la cocina peruana, me fascinan sus sabores y si tuviese que elegir un plato, sin duda sería la Causa de camarones.
WS – Show que recuerdes con más cariño:
Son muchos los sets que me han marcado y que les tengo un cariño especial. Pero vamos, yo creo que el opening de mi residencia en Hï. Simplemente porque es como mi proyecto más personal y cada martes me lo tomo como si fuese una final e intento dar lo mejor de mí. Aunque mi primera vez de all Night Long en Fabrik (Madrid) nunca la podré olvidar.
WS – Destino veraniego favorito para desconectar:
Me encanta irme a Playa del Carmen o a Tulum con mi hijo, disfrutamos mucho de la naturaleza y los parques que tienen para entretenerlo. Aunque en Ibiza estamos como en el paraíso durante todo el verano.
WS – Track que más te gusta pinchar actualmente:
Ufff me gustan mucho un par o tres, aunque son edits que yo he hecho de ellos, pero por nombrar uno My Humps (Joshwa & Lee Foss) cada vez que lo pincho la gente reacciona como loca.
WS – A few short questions to finish!
WS – Dream artist to play at your residence:
The truth is that I do not have any dream artists, I love the lineup that we have prepared in the summer since each and every one of them knows exactly what music they play and that is why I have called them. I believe in quality and not so much in names.
WS – A hidden hobby/passion:
Well, I love cooking, it’s one of my passions and it also relaxes me a lot to get in the kitchen to sometimes create my own recipes.
WS – Favorite food:
I am in love with Peruvian cuisine, its flavors fascinate me and if I had to choose a dish, without a doubt it would be the Shrimp Causa.
WS – Show that you remember the most:
There are many sets that have marked me and that I have a special affection for. But, come on, I think the opening of my residency at Hï!! Simply because it is like my most personal project and every Tuesday I take it as if it were a final and I try to do my best. Although I will never be able to forget my first time doing an All-Night-Long in Fabrik (Madrid).
WS – Favorite summer destination to disconnect:
I love going to Playa del Carmen or Tulum with my son, we really enjoy nature and the parks they have to entertain him. Although in Ibiza we are like in paradise throughout the summer.
WS – Track that you currently like to play the most:
Oofff I really like a couple or three, although they are edits that I have done of them, but to name one My Humps (Joshwa & Lee Foss) every time I play it people react like crazy.
