#REVIEW || Julian Jordan está de vuelta una vez más en STMPD con ‘Need You’
Uno de los buenos amigos de Martin Garrix, incluso desde cuando no había dado el gran salto en la electrónica internacional, se pasa hoy por nuestro blog con motivo de su nuevo tema. Wololo Sound entrevista a Julian Jordan, uno de los componentes de la amplia familia de STMPD RCRDS.
Antes de entrar en materia con la entrevista, nos paramos a analizar el nuevo lanzamiento del holandés. En este trabajo de influencia Future Bass con tintes muy electrónicos llamado ‘Need You‘, el joven Julian une fuerzas con el vocalista SMBDY. Se trata de su cuarto lanzamiento en los últimos cinco meses, buena prueba de su excelente estado de forma, y podéis encontrarlo en nuestra playlist de Spotify #TracksOfTheWeek.

ENTREVISTA/INTERVIEW:
Wololo Sound: Hola, Julian. Es un placer para nosotros poder entrevistarte. Para la gente que no te conozca mucho, ¿cómo te describirías brevemente?
Julian Jordan: Bueno, ¡es una pregunta difícil, jaja! Creo que me describiría como un chico creativo al que le encanta hacer música y disfruta viajando por el mundo para actuar en todos los increíbles clubs y festivales. También soy muy enérgico. Me encanta poner de los nervios a mi tour manager y bromear todo el rato, jaja.
— Wololo Sound: Hi, Julian. It’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to interview you. To the people that don’t know much about you, how would you describe yourself?
— Julian Jordan: Well, that’s a hard question haha! I think I would describe myself as a creative guy that loves to make music and enjoys travelling around the world to perform at all these amazing clubs and festivals. I’m also super energetic. I love to get on my tour manager’s nerves and joke around all the time haha.
WS: Estás en un brillante momento de tu carrera, muy ligado a STMPD RCRDS, donde acabas de lanzar tu nuevo tema ‘Need You’. ¿Sientes que es como tu segunda familia? ¿Cómo es vuestra relación?
JJ: Mi relación con STMPD es muy buena, he estado trabajando con Watse (manager de Martin Garrix) desde el principio. Ahí todo el mundo trabaja muy duro y tienen una gran pasión por lo que hacen. Cuando sientes que estás al mismo nivel de energía que la gente que te rodea es cuando sabes que la unión es buena.
— WS: You are in a brilliant moment of your career, linked to STMPD RCRDS, where you just released your new track ‘Need You’. Do you feel STMPD as your second family? How is your relation with the label?
— JJ: My relationship with STMPD is really good, I’ve been working with Watse (manager of Martin Garrix) from the start. All the people there work very hard and are passionate about what they are doing. When you feel that you’re on the same level of energy as the people around you, that’s when you know it’s a good match!
WS: Hay quienes dicen que este sello es un gran objetivo para muchos productores por la repercusión que tiene, sobre todo en Spotify. ¿Qué opinas sobre ello?
JJ: Creo que es verdad, especialmente para los artistas emergentes que no tienen conocimiento del mercado y la escena. Un sello puede tener un gran impacto en tu carrera y darte ese impulso para darte a conocer. Es importante estar con un sello que sea amigo de los artistas, que quiera lo mejor para ti.
— WS: Some people say the label is an important target to many producers due to the impact it has, especially in Spotify. What do you think about this?
— JJ: I think that’s true, especially with upcoming artists who have no knowledge of the market and the scene. A label can have a huge impact on your career and can give you that boost to make yourself known. It’s important to be with an “artist-friendly” label, that wants the best for you.
WS: Vienes de lanzar hace unos meses ‘Glitch’ con Martin Garrix, pero vuestra relación empezó ya hace años. ¿Cómo le conociste y qué sientes cada vez que trabajas con él?
JJ: Martijn y yo nos conocemos desde hace tiempo. Íbamos juntos al colegio e incluso antes de eso éramos buenos amigos. Hemos estado haciendo música juntos durante muchísimos años y todavía me sorprende cada vez que estamos en el estudio. No conozco ningún otro DJ o artista a este nivel que tenga tanta pasión y dedicación por su arte. Trabajar con él y ver cuánto se preocupa por la música es inspirador.
— WS: You released ‘Glitch’ some months ago alongside Martin Garrix, but your relation started quite some time ago. How did you get to know him and what do you feel everytime you work with him?
— JJ: Martijn and I go way back. We were in school together and even before that, we were good friends. We’ve been making music together for so many years and he still amazes me every time we are in the studio. I don’t know any other DJ or artist at his level, who has so much passion and dedication for his craft. It’s inspiring to work with him and to see how much he cares about music.
WS: ¿Qué esperas de este 2019? ¿Algo importante que nos puedas adelantar?
JJ: Voy a sacar muchos temas nuevos en 2019. Mi nivel de energía está al 20.000%. ¡Cuando acabo una canción, no sé ni dónde programarla, jaja! Lo único que puedo decir es que 2019 será mi año, ¡vais a escuchar música del siguiente nivel!
— WS: What do you expect from 2019? Anything you can tell us in advance?
— JJ: There are so many new tracks that will be released in 2019. It’s really something else. My energy level is at 20,000%. When I finish a song now, I don’t even know where to schedule it haha! The only thing I can say is that 2019 is going to be my year, you’re really going to hear next level music!
