Tras el lanzamiento de varios de sus nuevos tracks, Andrea tiene más claro que nunca que la música, lejos de separar a las personas, las tiene que unir. La música es música, sin ataduras ni etiquetas.

Wololo Sound – ¡Hola Andrea! Muchas gracias por darnos la oportunidad de tener esta entrevista contigo, ¡es un placer! Empecemos preguntándote, ¿cómo estás? ¿En qué momento creativo te encuentras ahora que acaba de empezar la temporada de festivales?
Andrea (Andy The Core) – Hola chicos gracias por hacerme esta entrevista En este momento estoy realmente evolucionando en mi mentalidad de producción, me enamoré de nuevo de la “vieja escuela” con la que empecé a hacer música al principio de mi carrera. Quiero ofrecer un poco de hardcore con viejas influencias de una manera modernizada.
Wololo Sound – Hi Andrea! Thank you very much for giving us the chance to have this interview with you, it’s a pleasure! First of all, how are you? In what creative moment are you right now that the festival season has started?
Andrea (Andy The Core) – Hi guys thank you for having me on this interview, right now I’m really evolving my production mentality, I falled in love again with the “old way” I was making music at the beginning of my carreer. I want to deliver some Hardcore with old influences in a modern way.
WS – Sin duda, cuentas con una larga trayectoria profesional. ¿Cómo fue tu inicio en la escena musical? ¿En qué momento supiste que querías dedicarte a ello profesionalmente? ¿Te enfrentaste a muchas dificultades cuando empezaste a desarrollarte como artista en la industria musical? ¿Cómo describirías tu evolución hasta el momento actual?
A – Empecé muy joven, crecí con la música desde que mi hermana, que es mayor que yo, era pianista, a principios del 2000 siempre buscábamos música nueva que escuchar. Empecé a amar la música electrónica cuando era muy joven (14-15 años de edad). En esa época las redes sociales ni siquiera existían, empece a aprender producción con los pocos medios que teníamos, no había tantos tutoriales como hoy en día. Empecé a grabar mis primeros dj sets y a colgarlos en mi SoundCloud y fue entonces cuando los primeros promotores se fijaron en mí. Creo que producir cuando eres joven es diferente, no tienes límites ni referencias, sólo haces lo que te gusta. Ese es mi consejo para todo nuevo artista: no seas una copia, tan solo exprésate. He evolucionado mucho, creo que porque lo básico que hay que entender es que siempre hay que aprender. Sobre todo en el campo de la música electrónica, que evoluciona muy rápido.
WS – You have a long professional career. How did you get started in the music scene? At what point did you know you wanted to do it professionally? Did you face many difficulties when you started to develop as an artist in the music industry? How would you describe your evolution?
A – I started very young, I grew up with music since my sister which is older then me was a pianist, back in the beginnings of 2000 we always search for new music to listen. I started to love electronic music when I was super young like 14-15 years old. Back at that time socials was not even a thing, I started to learn production with the few things we had, there was not that much tutorial like today. I started to record my first dj set on post them on my soundcloud since the first promtoters noticed me. I think producing when you are super young is different, you do not have bounderies or reference you just do what you like, that’s my advice to every new artist, don’t be a copy just express your self. I evolved a lot, I think cause the basic thing to understand is that “you always have to learn.” Especially in the electronic music field which evolve very fast.
WS – Suponemos que mantener una buena motivación a la hora de crear música no es fácil. ¿Qué te ayuda a mantenerla? ¿Qué te inspira y te motiva a producir nuevos temas? ¿En qué encuentras inspiración?
A – Siempre es el público. Me encanta actuar y ver la respuesta del público. Eso es lo que me mantiene centrado en hacer algo diferente por y para ellos. Me gusta seguir las tendencias, pero creo que es importante intentar “crear tendencias” en la música para ser diferente y único.
WS – We suppose that keeping a good motivation when creating music is not easy. What helps you to do it? What inspires and motivates you to produce new songs? Where do you find inspiration?
A – IIt’s always the crowd, I love to perform and see crowd response, that’s what keep me focused on doing something different for them. I like to follow trends but I think it’s important to try to “create trends” in music to be different and unique.
WS – Parece que en la actual escena hard, hay una “guerra” por demostrar qué subgénero musical es mejor… Hardcore, Uptempo, Raswtyle… ¿Qué opinas sobre ello? ¿Hacia dónde crees que va a llevar todo esto y cómo va a afectar a la evolución de la música?
A – Realmente odio las etiquetas en los estilos musicales. Ahora el hardcore tiene demasiadas. La música ha evolucionado mucho, para ser honesto la tendencia actual es un poco aburrida para mí, pero es por una simple razón: demasiada música copiada y pegada. Cuando surge una tendencia cientos de artistas se limitan a copiar lo que funciona en ese momento. Esa cantidad de música exactamente igual siempre puede llevar a una escena plana, donde la música es literalmente la misma durante horas en un evento. Creo que después de esta temporada de verano surgirán muchas nuevas influencias, muchos artistas se pasarán a los sonidos de antaño.
WS – It seems that in the current hardcore scene, there is a “war” to prove which sub-genre is better… Hardcore, Uptempo, Rawstyle… What do you think about it, where do you think this is going to lead and how is it going to affect the evolution of music?
A – I really hate “labels” in music styles, now Hardcore got definitly too much labels, music evolved sooo much, to be honest the actual trend is a little bit boring for me but it’s for a simple reason, too much copy paste music. When a trend comes up hundred of artists just copy what it “works” at the moment, that amount of same music can lead to a flat scene where the music is literally the same for hours during an event. I think that after this summer season many new influeces will come up, many artists will move to early sounds.
WS – Hace poco lanzaste tu nuevo tema ‘Hardcore is forever’, en el que lanzas un importante mensaje al respecto. ¿Cuál fue su origen e inspiración? ¿Te resultó fácil producirlo? Y por otro lado… si tuvieras que elegir, ¿elegirías la escena musical actual o eres prefieres la oldschool?
A – ‘Hardcore is forever’ fue un mensaje para decir: la música hardcore, tal y como a mucha gente le gusta escucharla, sigue presente. Muchos de mis fans me pidieron que volviera a las raíces, porque creo que nos falta un poco de emoción en la escena musical actual. Como he dicho, hay demasiada música parecida, a veces ni siquiera puedes reconocer quién es el artista que la ha hecho. No tengo una escena favorita, cada año sale algo increíble, sólo quiero mantener el hardcore como era en los viejos tiempos con más emoción y más sonidos únicos.
WS – You recently released your new track ‘Hardcore Is Forever‘, in which you include an important message about it. What was its origin and inspiration? Did you find it easy to produce it? And on the other hand… if you had to choose, would you choose the current music scene or do you prefer old school?
A – ‘Hardcore is forever‘ was a message to say “hardcore music, the way many people would like to hear is still here”. A lot of my fans asked me to go back to the roots cause I think we are missing a little of “emotions” in the current music scene, as I said there’s too much similar music you can’t even recognize who’s the artist who made it. I don’t have a favorite scene, every year something amazing is released, I just want to keep it Hardcore as It was back in the days with more emotion and more unique sounds.
WS – El mensaje en tu nuevo tema ‘Hardcore is forever’ está claro. Pero si tuvieras que enviar un mensaje corto y directo a todos los fans del hard que nos están leyendo… ¿Qué les dirías? ¿Incidirías en algo en concreto?
A – El hardcore siempre ha sido un tipo de música diferente, conectaba a gente de todo el mundo como si formaran parte de la misma familia y en cierto modo sigue siendo así. Mi mensaje se basa más o menos en eso: seguir amando la música, seguir amando las emociones de la fiesta y la alegría de compartir todos juntos.
WS – The message in your new track ‘Hardcore Is Forever‘ is clear. But if you had to send a short and direct message to all the hardcore fans who are reading us… What would you tell them? Would you insist on something in particular?
A – Hardcore has always been a different kind of music, it connected people around the world as they are part of the same family, in some way it’s still like that. My message is pretty much based on that, keep love the music, keep love the party vibes and joy to stay together.

A – Actualmente estoy centrado en una serie de lanzamientos como ‘Hardcore is forever‘, ¡hay muchos preparados y estoy súper emocionado por sacarlos! ¡Estad atentos!
WS – The other day you shared in your social networks that you are planning to release several songs very soon… Tell us about them, please!
A – I’m currently focused on a series of release like ‘Hardcore is forever‘, there are many ready and I’m super excited to release them! Stay tuned!
WS – Además de tu trabajo como artista, cabe destacar tu papel como CEO en tu sello discográfico Rude Vibes Only. ¿Qué motivo te llevó a crearlo? ¿En qué te basas a la hora de seleccionar a otros productores/DJs para el sello?
A – Rude Vibes nació durante la pandemia, Matt (Nightshift) y Simone (Whynot) decidieron crear un lugar donde los artistas pudieran expresarse sin reglas ni límites. Ahora tenemos un equipo enorme con algunos de los artistas italianos más talentosos de la escena y me encanta que confiaran en mí. Estoy muy contento de que hayamos podido darles una oportunidad cuando muchos sellos rechazaron sus maquetas porque en algunos casos eran artistas “demasiado pequeños”.
WS – Besides your work as an artist, it is worth mentioning your role as CEO of your record label Rude Vibes Only. Why did you create it? On what basis do you select other producers/DJs for the label?
A – Rude Vibes was born during the pandemic, me Matt (Nightshift) & Simone (Whynot) decided to create a place where artists can express their self with no rules and bounderies. Now we got a super huge team with some of the most talented italian upcoming artists on the scene and I love the way they trusted me. I’m so happy that we were able to give them a chance where many labels maybe refused their demos cause they were “too small” artists in some cases.
WS – En tu larga trayectoria musical, seguramente buenos momentos y has alcanzado muchas metas. ¿Podrías contarnos cuáles han sido los momentos más especiales de tu carrera hasta ahora? ¿De qué festival tienes mejores recuerdos? ¿Cuál esperas con más ganas en el futuro? Y por otro lado, ¿te queda algún sueño por cumplir?
A – Tengo la oportunidad de tocar en todos los grandes festivales de hard dance y estoy muy agradecido por ello, sin duda me quedo con mi primer Harmony Of Hardcore en el Mainstage, mi primer Defqon.1 y mi primer Masters Of Hardcore, dejaron una marca para siempre en mis recuerdos. Estoy deseando tocar en algún país que todavía tengo pendiente, como México por ejemplo, me encanta expandir mi música por todo el mundo.
WS – In your long musical career, you’ve certainly had some good times and achieved many goals. Could you tell us what have been the most special moments of your career so far? Which festival do you have the best memories of? Which one are you looking forward to the most in the future? And on the other hand, do you still have any dreams left to fulfill?
A – I get the chance to play in all the major hard dance festivals and I’m so greatefull for that, for sure my first Harmony Of Hardcore mainstage, my first Defqon.1, my first Masters Of Hardcore left a mark forever on my memories. I look forward to play in some country I’m still missing like Mexico for example, I just love to deliver my music worldwide.
WS – Hace poco tiempo actuaste en España, en el club Fabrik en Madrid. ¿Qué tal la experiencia con el público español? ¿Volverás pronto a España?
A – ¡En estos momentos España y Francia me están dando muy buenas sensaciones, el público español es INCREÍBLE, la energía que desprenden siempre durante mi set es increíble! También toqué en Barcelona hace unos días y ahora me toca Mediterránea festival Roses. España, ¡prepárate!
WS – You recently performed in Spain, at Fabrik in Madrid. How was the experience with the Spanish crowd? Will you be back in Spain soon?
A – At the moment Spain and France are giving me so many good vibes, Spanish crowd is INSANE, the way they put energy during my set is unbelievable! I played also in Barcelona few days ago and I got Mediterranea festival Roses next in line! Spain be ready!
