WS: Thanks for your time, let’s start with the questions.
T: Thanks for interviewing me! Let’s GO!
WS: In your last track, ‘One On One’ featuring Sorana, you set aside your most known style to try with fresh trap vibes. Will it be your new path as a producer?
T: I am definitely always pushing myself to try new things. I think in music you have to strike a balance between the sound that you are known for, but also moving forward. I really loved working on this record and I feel like it’s been well received so far. Though this is an evolution of my sound, I think I’m not going to sit still, so I will always try to push forward and do new things.
WS: ¿Cómo es trabajar con un sello como Spinnin’ Records? ¿Qué hace único a este sello?
WS: How is to work with a label like Spinnin’ Records? What makes this label unique?
T: Spinnin’ are an incredible machine. They’re a really supportive label and I wouldn’t be able to achieve all the things I do without the help of them and the rest of my team (management, booking agents, etc.)
WS: Some of your tracks have been re-released after the succeed with really famous artists including the vocals. For example ‘Booty Bounce’ with Taio Cruz, ‘Who’ or ‘Boneless’. How does this process work? Do the artists contact with you, or the label? Do you work with them or they just put the vocals on it?
T: Yeah, I guess this has been a dance music tradition forever. You know, a song gets massive in the clubs and then a label might want to harness that success by adding new vocals and pushing the track for radio or chart success. We would usually discuss the idea and then work on the track with the new vocalist to make sure we get something that we think works. It’s no good just slapping any old vocal over the track and putting it out there, it still has to represent the Tujamo name.
WS: Which of your tracks do you love the most?
T: It completely depends on where I am and what I’m doing. I guess the tracks represent me musically at that time. Right now I’m loving One on one because it’s my life!
WS: What do you have prepared for next months? Do you have in mind to release an album and have strong colabs in it?
T: Always so busy doing different stuff. For now focusing on the tour, as I’ve just released One on One, with the video and remixes.. watch this space!
WS: I don’t wanna depress you, but almost 30 years old. Even though you still rocks around the world. How is your lifestyle when you are on tour? What item do you always bring with you on tour?
T: I love tour life. I guess I have to with the amount I now tour! I would say I always have my sunglasses. It’s pretty tiring on tour, so they are useful to hide my tired face after the long night before!
WS: If I’m not wrong this year will be your second time playing at Tomorrowland. 2016 at Super You & Me Stage and 2017 at Spinnin’ Sessions Stage. What do you expect about 28th of July?
T: Pretty sure that it will be insane. I swear that festival keeps getting better and better!
WS: Not many gigs in Spain this year (not considering Ibiza as Spain). What do you think about the crowd here?
T: I love Spain and wish I could visit more. The crowds there are great, and I hope they love me as much as I love them!
